The main contemporary vehicles for research into Borrow's life and works have been the George Borrow Bulletin, edited by Ann Ridler, and a series of paperback publications she began in 2014 published by the Lavengro Press. The Bulletin ceased publication in 2018, but we hope in future to make back copies available through this website. See Bulletin for a listing of the contents in each issue. Anyone requiring a copy of a specific article from the Bulletin should email the website editor Peter Ansell.
GBS member David Price has done a sterling job over the last twenty years compiling a George Borrow website which contains a wealth of information about George Borrow. He has also spent hundreds of hours copying and and transferring a vast amount of material to Project Gutenberg. Of particular interest are the following pages on his website:
GBS member Peter Missler wrote and collected an extensive body of research into all the material that came out of the 5 years that Borrow spent in Spain in the 1830s. This is all still available via his website George Borrow Studies https://rodeluro.nl/georgeborrowstudies/ although unfortunately his annotated edition of The Bible in Spain is no longer available.
Note: The Royal Geographical Society of South Australia has now made Borrow's original handwritten manuscript for The Zincali available online - https://rgssa.org.au/heritage/treasures/the-zincali-by-george-borrow
