In this policy, whenever you see the terms "We," "Us," "the Society," or "Our" they refer to the George Borrow Society.

We work with carefully selected service providers who carry out some functions on our behalf. These service providers will act on our instruction and adhere to the UK GDPR (UK General Data Protection Regulations). For example:

  • We use card payment processors to process online payments.
  • We use a vendor to host our website and distribute electronic mailings.
  • We may use mailing houses or printers to distribute bulk mailings.

Please note: We do not store financial information on our website.

Marketing

We will never sell or pass your personal data to a third party for marketing purposes. We will only use your data ourselves for marketing if you have given us permission to do so.

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email  us, putting Subject Access Request in the subject line. Before we can supply this information, you will need to provide adequate proof of your identity. We will endeavour to provide the information to you within one month of the request for information. In line with UK GDPR procedures we will contact you should we require longer to fulfil your request. Under certain circumstances you have the right to ask us to erase your data from our records. We try to ensure all information we store is correct. If, however, you find that we hold incorrect information, please let us know and we will correct it. 

Cookies

When we provide services, we want to make them easy, useful, and reliable. This sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your device, such as your computer or mobile phone. These include small files known as cookies. They cannot be used to identify you personally. These pieces of information are used to improve services for you through, for example:
